Top 3 Myths About Change

  1. Leaders can simply order change – “Just do it!”

If it were simply a question of creating a task force, establishing what needs to change, by whom, by when, and just implementing all this, then why don’tpeople‘just do it’ successfully and in a timely fashion? While implementing change can often be challenging and costly, the root cause of ineffective change implementation frequently lies in people’s inability or unwillingness to transition through the change.

  2. Transition will simply follow change, and will happen because the change is happening.

It doesn’t. There is a very good reason for this – transition happens, if ever, much more slowly than change. Most leaders are likely to focus on making the change happen, not on getting people through transition.
